At LGA, we believe art is not separate from architecture — it is intertwined with how we experience place, connect with one another, and understand community. From the spaces we design, to the culture within our office, to the lives our team members lead outside of work, creativity shapes how we think and how we practice.
Our commitment to the arts is rooted in a belief that thoughtful design can elevate the human spirit and help create more vibrant, connected communities. It is one of the reasons LGA chose to establish its office in the heart of Las Vegas’ Arts District — placing ourselves intentionally within the city’s creative and cultural energy.
In Our Projects
Across civic and community projects, LGA advocates for the integration of art as a core design principle rather than an afterthought. We believe public spaces become more meaningful when they reflect the stories, identity, and culture of the people who use them.
This philosophy can be seen in projects like the Silverado Ranch Community Center, where spaces were designed to support community arts, performance, and shared cultural programming as part of everyday civic life. The facility also features Desert Winds, a suspended sculpture designed by Talley Fisher Studio and installed in the main atrium as part of the center’s opening in 2024, creating a dynamic artistic focal point within the public gathering space.
It is also reflected in the Historic Westside Legacy Park, a collaboration between the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, CORE Construction, LGA Architecture, and LAGE Design. Originally envisioned by former Clark County Commissioner Lawrence Weekly and Las Vegas City Councilman Cedric Crear, the park was created as an outdoor museum honoring the history, culture, and legacy of Las Vegas’ Historic Westside community.
The project integrates interpretive storytelling, public art, gathering spaces, and memorial elements throughout the site. A defining feature of the park is Living Black Pillars, a sculptural installation created in collaboration with local Westside artist Chase McCurdy. The polished stainless steel forms rise from the landscape as a reflection of resilience, growth, and the generations who helped shape the community. More than an artist, Chase became an important advisor throughout the design process, helping the team build authentic connections with the neighborhood and ensuring the project reflected the values and identity of the community it was created to honor. For LGA, this collaboration reinforced the belief that art is not simply something added to a project — it is something that helps shape the experience, meaning, and emotional connection people have with a place.
In Our Office
Creativity is also embedded within the culture of our practice. Inside our office, The ALLEY serves as an internal gallery space showcasing artwork created by members of the LGA team. The gallery reinforces the idea that artistic expression and design thinking are deeply connected and encourages creativity to remain visible and celebrated within our everyday environment.
That same spirit extends into our physical workspace itself. Murals created by local artists both inside and outside of our building contribute to the visual identity of the Arts District while transforming our office into an active participant in the neighborhood’s creative culture.
In Our Lives
For many members of the LGA team, involvement in the arts extends well beyond architecture.
Principal Alexia Chen is actively engaged in Southern Nevada’s arts community through her service on the Southern Nevada Arts Coalition Board of Directors and as a board member of Vegas Theatre Company, one of the founding organizations behind the THIRD Street initiative. Her involvement provides firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges facing local artists and arts organizations, reinforcing LGA’s commitment to creating spaces that support culture, creativity, and community.
LGA Project Architect Jas Le is also a practicing artist whose recent work includes contributions to Clark County’s ZAP! Public Art Series, painting utility boxes throughout the Las Vegas Valley. The long-running initiative transforms everyday infrastructure into public canvases, bringing art into the daily experience of the city.
These individual passions strengthen our practice and reinforce a culture where creativity, curiosity, and community engagement are valued both inside and outside the office.
At every scale — from public infrastructure to neighborhood spaces to our own internal culture — LGA believes art helps create places that feel human, connected, and meaningful. It is not separate from our work. It is part of how we design, how we collaborate, and how we contribute to the communities we call home.
