A Mural, A Legacy, and the Stories That Shape Us
When we moved into our new office, we knew we needed more than just a fresh space—we needed a place to tell our stories. A place to celebrate the people and projects that have shaped LGA over the past 40 years. A place where our history could live, not just in memory, but in something tangible, something permanent. That’s when artist Mila May helped us bring The Story of LGA to life.
This mural isn’t just paint on a wall. It’s a reflection of who we are. It took a month to complete, but in reality, it took four decades to create. Woven into every brushstroke are the moments, the people, and the projects that have defined us. It’s a living history book, a tribute to the lessons we’ve learned, the challenges we’ve conquered, and the adventures still ahead.
Hidden throughout the mural are Easter eggs—small, playful nods to our firm’s rich history. Perhaps the most notorious of these is the legendary petrified hidden banana, a tribute to one of LGA’s newly retired leaders, John Haddad. For years, John’s prank involved hiding a banana somewhere in the office, waiting to see how long it would take someone to find it. More often than not, by the time it was discovered, it had become a relic of its former self. Rumor has it, there’s still one lurking somewhere in the new office, waiting for an unsuspecting soul to stumble upon it.
Then there’s Wally—the infamous walrus bust that hung in our previous office, surrounded by speculation and suspicion. Whispers of a hidden camera inside only added to the mystery. Was it ever confirmed? Not really. But that’s the magic of our firm’s stories—sometimes, the best ones don’t need answers.
The projects depicted in the mural aren’t just work; they are milestones that shaped us, individually and collectively. Some pushed us to our limits, some tested our resilience, and some propelled us into new and exciting directions. Not all of us were here for every chapter of this story, but like any great tale, it’s our responsibility to remember, to honor, and to pass it down.
And the best part? The story isn’t over. The hills and the sky in the mural remain unfinished, waiting for the next project, the next person, the next defining moment to take its place. Just as we continue to grow, so too does the story of LGA.
This mural is more than art—it’s a reminder of where we’ve been, a celebration of who we are, and an open invitation to what comes next. Our story is still being written, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.
