Hoover Dam Visitor Center – Exhibit Level Renovation

Boulder City, Nevada

LGA Architecture served as Prime Architect, leading the overall planning, design, and delivery of the Exhibit Level renovation while coordinating closely with the project’s interpretive design team. LGA provided design leadership, oversight, and integration across the full scope of work, ensuring that architectural planning, circulation, interpretive elements, and building systems functioned as a cohesive visitor experience.

The renovation reimagined the Exhibit Level to better support how people naturally explore museums and learning environments. LGA reorganized and expanded the exhibit footprint by reclaiming underutilized storage space, improving sightlines, and redefining circulation. The previous layout relied on constrained, one-way movement that forced visitors through exhibits at a single pace. The new configuration introduces multiple entry and exit points and layered pathways, allowing guests to engage with the exhibits organically—whether they choose to linger, explore selectively, or move efficiently through the space.

By shifting from a rigid, linear sequence to a more flexible and intuitive environment, the design accommodates diverse visitor interests, increases dwell time, and enhances accessibility and comfort. LGA’s role included active collaboration, review, and coordination of interpretive elements to ensure that content, space, and flow worked together seamlessly to support the educational mission of the Hoover Dam Visitor Center.
